May Favorites

“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole stair case”
                                                                                    -Martin Luther King Jr.

I can't believe May is already gone! It makes me very excited for what's ahead! I can't wait to share with you guys all the amazing experiences that come with summer! But, meanwhile here are a few of my favorite products :)

Face

St. Ives Blemish Control apricot scrub- this guy is an exfoliator that Claims to prevent blackheads and minimize pores. I am 100% convinced that it does exactly what it claims, my skin hasn’t felt this good in. . .well forever. It smells absolutely delicious. It is not of a runny consistency, making it easy to apply, it leaves the skin feeling minty, tingly, fresh, soft and smelling amazing. It is oil free and hypoallergenic, I absolutely recommend it!

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion- this guy is obviously one of my monthly favorites; I talked about him on a recent post, you can check out HERE.

L’Oreal True Match Lumi foundation- this foundation has become my absolute favorite. It provides medium coverage so it’s not very thick and it contains SPF 20 (which I love). It’s a very blendable foundation that does not feel heavy on the skin. I am currently using the shade Classic Beige or C5.

Eye(brow)s

L’Oreal Telescopic Explosion mascara- I have struggled to find the perfect mascara for my super straight and tiny eyelashes. This one not only kept them up but it made them look longer! I use the waterproof version of it, so I know that that’s part of the reason it holds up the curl, but I’ve tried other waterproof mascaras and they do nothing compared to this one. The applicator is a small spikey ball, which surprisingly makes it easier to apply. The one I grab is in Blackest Black.

Rimmel London Colour Rush Trio 730 spices- these shadows have been sitting in my makeup drawer for a while. I recently picked them up again and I’ve been enjoying them. There is a light brown, a light pink, and a light peachy vanilla color.  They aren’t very pigmented, but I like to use them on my lid when I’m going for a more natural look.

NYX Eyebrow cake powder- I have gone through a lot of eyebrow products and I think I finally found something I like! The palette comes with a wax and two different colors, a dark brown and a light brown- along with an applicator brush and spooly. There are a variety of different shades available, the one I’m using is Dark Brown/Brown.

Lipies

Aquaphor Lip Repair- earlier this month I was out with my boyfriend and my lips were feeling very chapped, we stopped by a drug store and he bought me this little guy! It doesn’t smell or taste yucky like other medicated lip products. It leaves my lips soft and smooth, I cant stop putting it on, and apparently Chloe can't stop chewing on it either.

Revlon’s Blasé Apricot Lipstick- He has become my go to lipstick. It has vey good color payoff and it goes on smoothly. I feel that it can be worn with any outfit.

Revlon Colorburst in Killer Watt- I pair him with the Apricot lipstick but I also like to wear him alone for a more subtle look. The formula is not thick or sticky making it very wearable. The color you get on your lips is exactly the color of the bottle.

Summer Outfit #1

“Be who are and say what you feel because those who mind
don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”
                                                                                                  -Dr. Seuss

Summer is just around the corner and the warm weather calls for dresses, this one here has kicked off my obsession for this summer. Usually I’m not a fan, I usually go for my denim shorts and tees but this dress in particular got my attention. It has Pockets! I’ve never had a dress with pockets before, why didn’t anyone ever tell me they existed? I like the idea of being able to carry my phone without having to worry about a purse.

I paired the dress with some pointed toe heels, which are my favorite type at the moment but I’m obviously not going to be walking around in heels all summer. I just don’t own any flats at the moment! Crazy I know! The only type of “flats” I own right now are Toms, don’t worry though, ill soon be shopping for a new summer wardrobe, which ill be sure to share with you guys.

I wore a yellow necklace to bring out the yellow in the dress and some tan/nude earrings. The heels also had a gold studded strap going around my ankle that added a little more bling? I’m not the type to wear numerous pieces of jewelry with my outfits, especially during the summer moths because they make me feel all sticky. My makeup was pretty neutral. I loaded up on the Mascara and added a black eyeliner wing to a neutral eye. On my lips, I wore Revlon’s Blasé Apricot cream lipstick #702

Dress: Target $20
Heels: Charlotte Russe $30
Earrings (pack of 3): Charlotte Russe $5
Necklace: Boutique store $1

Who Am I?

“You don’t always need a plan. Sometimes you just need to breath, trust, let go and see what happens.”
                                                                                            - Mandy Hale

Hi ladies, so, I wanted to start something new on my blog. The idea is to place a Quote or a word of inspiration at the top of every post for you guys. All of us need a bit of encouragement once in a while (I know I do), and I’d love it if I could make you guys smile. The post is a bit different today as well because I realized that I never gave you a proper welcoming, how rude of me! So I want to welcome you to my piece of the Internet, and tell you how happy I am that you’re here. I appreciate everyone that that has taken the time to read and subscribe to my posts, it honestly means the world to me :). I have been enjoying this whole blogging experience, it’s so much different than I imagined, but it’s been amazing so far. I have met lots of other bloggers from other countries, which I never expected to do. I’ve actually been chatting with Hannah from hannahbeths.wordpress.com, who’s Australian! Her blog is amazing! She actually suggested I do some get-to-know-me questions, which she answered on her blog. I hope you enjoy learning something about me. Feel free to ask any others in the comments.

1. Do you have any siblings? I do, I have a younger sister who is 16

2. How old are you? I am 20 years old, soon to be 21 on June 13

3. How tall are you? I am 5 feet 1 inch tall (or short)

4. Do you have any pets? Yes, I have two little trouble makers, a dog named Chloe and a cat named Gatito.

5. Do you have any phobias? I do!! I am terrified of goats, cockroaches, and spiders.

6. What do you do? I finished my associate degree and I recently got a job at Starbucks (whoop whoop, best job ever). I am planning on going back to school, but I’m not sure for what quite yet.

7. What is your favorite Disney film? At the time, my favorite is Frozen (I’m obsessed with all the songs). But my all time favorite movies are, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin.

8. What is your ethnicity? I am 100% Mexican, well actually, I think I have some Italian blood in me from my mom’s side. Though I wasn’t born in the US I have lived most of my life here in California.

9. Whats an item you cant live without? Probably my eyelash curler because my eyelashes are super straight and super short.

10. Where in the world would you like to visit? Id love to visit the Caribbean, Spain and Paris, they’re on my bucket list even though I don’t really have one.

11. Heels or flats? I honestly love wearing heels; they make any outfit so much fancier, except I would prefer flats on a day-to-day basis.

12. Whats your favorite food? Pasta!!! Fettuccine Alfredo to be exact! yummy!!

13. If you could move anywhere, where would it be? I would move anywhere it snowed for the winter, or someplace where I could have a farm.

14 Favorite Shop? Lets see, I think it would have to be Charlotte Russe, They have the cutest clothes, not to mention great deals on jewelry!

15. Do you like swimming? I do and then I don’t, Swimming is fun, but as soon as my feet no longer touch the ground I panic! I know how to swim I just don’t like being in deep waters (I know it’s lame).

16. Do you have a favorite book? I have lots of favorite books; the one that stands out right now is The Giver.

17Do you bite your nails? I do not, I used to, until I got braces, and then the habit just sort of went away.

18. Do you have a hobby? Well, blogging is one of my favorite hobbies now, but I also like to sing, I am part of my church’s choir.

19. Do you drink coffee? I do but not very often, I find it too strong, I also have a theory that it makes me go to the lady’s room every five seconds. I do however enjoy the Starbucks Frappuccinos.

20. Savory or sweet? I think this would depend on my mood, so both…

Yay, that’s all the questions. As time goes on I’ll share a bit more of me with you guys. I hope you liked taking a peek into my life. I think ill be doing more of these ramblings, I really enjoyed it.

Haul

Hi ladies, this will be kind of a short post, since it’s the middle of the week and all, but I hope you enjoy xx

So this weekend I went shopping for mascara, and like a true gal came back with a few more product and some accessories. I took them out of the package already because I couldn’t wait to see them on my vanity.

Let me know in the comments what you think of these products. And if you’ve tried any, let me know how you liked them.

I picked up:

The Milani Powder Blush in #01 Romantic Rose

It’s the first blush I pick up from Milani. I know I know I’m late.

The Milani Powder bronzer in #00 Radiant

I’ve been obsessing over bronzers lately. I picked the lightest shade
because anything darker makes my skin look muddy.

The Maybelline DreamLumi highlighting concealer

I love two-in-one products, they’re my favorite. I’m hoping it does its job
because I’ve been struggling to find a perfect concealer.

3 Braided Hair Ideas

Spring is finally here, and with it comes the unpredictable weather and the worry for untamable hair. Simply putting the long strands of hair up and away from the face is very tempting, but come on, who doesn’t want to look cute while running errands. I don’t mean that messy buns or ponytails are unattractive, they’re not, but hey; why not rock a new hairstyle once in a while. Right? Down below are three hairstyles that I have been obsessed with lately. I want to share them with you because they’re very simple to do and take almost no time at all. The good thing about them is that they can be worn for both casual and formal events. That means, that you can wear the same hairdo to your date that you wore to the grocery store.

For the hairstyles, you want to have two-day-old hair, as it gives the hair more grip.

Fish Tail

Steps
1. Begin by parting your hair as you normally would.

2. Divide all your hair into two sections at the bottom back of
   of your head
3. Take a piece from the outside of one section and cross it
over adding it to the other side.
4. Do the same with the second section.

5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 all the way down the hair.
6. To finish, secure the hair with a clear elastic (you can
either leave the braid at the back or move it forward).
